Have a little faith in me,

this morning, i woke up to sean's mom's text:
"all the best to your exam and god bless. we all have faith in you to do well cause you are a smart girl :)"
thanks for having faith in me. thanks for believing in me.
i dont know what i've done to deserve so much love, but i'm truly blessed.

i'm constantly afraid of letting sean down again and again, i've always been a disappointment. i've been to my bottom and it's not exactly easy climbing all the way up alone. so thankful for all my beautiful girlies who have been encouraging me all these while, and of course, sean. it's not an easy task handling a girl who's so emotional and unpredictable w my temperament. but he do it all so well, especially the whole of last week. we even had a big tiff because im having exams now yet i had not and didnt want to study, and he kept on pushing me so hard (i asked him to, yet i didnt even put in any effort) that we both got annoyed. last weekend, as usual, i started feeling sad all over and gave up on my studies. but this time, sean came to me, and wrapped his arms round my body. i needed that hug so bad. i started crying, telling him how much of a disappointment i am and i would fail him again, i'm really lousy. i used to be able to do it, but i cant anymore. i'm a dumbfuck.. he hugged me even tighter, and said "results dont matter, i'm proud of you as long as you're tried your best. i'm proud of you as long as i know that you didnt give up, you tried. you matter to me the most."

sean, i just want to say thanks for pushing me, and getting mad at me if i didnt put in any effort. i knew you got mad not because you gave up on me, but because you cared, and i like how you use reverse psychology on me and it pretty much worked. you know i'm just really scared of another failure, but you're always there to comfort me, to assure me that i could pass any tests, and even do well. thanks for not doubting me, even for a second.

The SlutWalk protest marches began on April 3, 2011, in Toronto, Canada, and became a movement of rallies across the world. Participants protest against explaining or excusing rape by referring to any aspect of a woman's appearance. The rallies began when Constable Michael Sanguinetti, a Toronto Police officer, suggested that to remain safe, "women should avoid dressing like sluts."The protest takes the form of a march, mainly by young women, where some dress in ordinary clothing and others dress provocatively, like "sluts." There are also speaker meetings and workshops. Some objectors have remarked that this approach is an example of women defining their sexuality in male terms. SlutWalk is a movement to stop violence again women and specifically aims to challenge “rape culture” which excuses sexual violence through messaging such as “Don’t Get Raped”–instead the message should be “Don’t Rape!”
- extracted from wiki/slutwalk

so basically i was watching cna and there were footages on slutwalks held in DC and other cities, that's how i got to know about it. i get how slutwalk aims to create dialogue about sexual harrassment, assault and rape and the culture that perpetuates such violence, and how it aims to encourage everyone to put the blame on the perpetrators of violence instead of the victims. i dont know whether to support this cause, or not. firstly, the police officer is definitely not tactful, so he deserves it when people condemned him as a arrogant, idiotic chauvinist freak. but he do make some sense. i mean honestly, girls who dressed up w black gothic make up, w exposed thighs and dress up like hookers (image) are more likely to attract these perpetrators, they are basically already saying "yes" to sex w anyone than to girls not showing their tits at all. i mean i wouldnt be surprised if they got raped. i also oppose the name "slut walk". slut - hmm, seriously?
true that women have the right to make decisions about their sex lives and the right to control their bodies, and i support women's right to not get raped (of course), i support the whole idea BUT i dont think slut walk is a good way to express and bring this message across, though it has become the most successful feminist action of the past twenty years just in a few months. it only changes focus on it's important issue, and allow women to be labelled as sluts. just saying.

bintan w goodfren @cixian was great - though it's pretty short, just 2d1n and we basically spent most of our time at the resort, just chilling and eating away, but it's a much needed one. will blog about it soon. i have so many plans this coming holidays! nope, not travelling, but i've listed out some things i want to complete by this holiday. i have to pick up a new skill at least! maybe go on a little course? or i could pick up something from the interweb. plans to set up a flea stall w my girls (NEED), club and picnic w my girls, meet up w jm and the rest to plan on our trip this december, meet up w everyone that i promised to, spend more time on my guitar again, revamp my room is definitely a yes, and to visit so so so many dining places, try out so so so many recipes, and to go on photography trip w my lousy camera... and yes to look for a job.

dressed up in all black last weekend, and attended sean's army mate's 21st party at a villa at amara sanctuary. finally wore my pair of cheap monday's out after say almost half a year?? sean got this pair of jeans for me last year because he thinks that i look good in it (though i think my thigh looked humongous then, so i refused to wear it out) i really hate how not proportionate my bottom is to my top, but i shall wear it out more often. love how comfy cheap monday jeans are.

To adventures' doors,

august is here and i'm officially done with semester 2.1, cannot wait for my holidays! (been telling my friends since the start of school, but oh well this really is it, i lead a pretty much boring life) not that i'm prepared at all for the upcoming exams ahead but this is nothing new, i mean we already conquered 2 semesters.... i shouldve got the hang of it already. just three more weeks and i'm a free bird!! ok i am actually one now. need some sense of urgency urgh.

sean was out from camp last friday, and i did not have to attend classes! what a day really, a rare one. made our way to wessex estate along portsdown road, pretty troublesome though it's just few minutes from hollandv, but well we dont have a car and there's only one bus directed to the estate, the waiting time for the bus's horrible (30mins freq). still, i wanted to go there since forever after reading and looking at pictures of all that green, quaint and brit looking apartment and houses, couple shots, swings, this and that on flickr - an absolute hidden find! so we took and changed three buses (one-way trip) altogether. the weather was perfect. i cant emphasize how pretty and how beautiful this place is esp w the natural morning sunlight, wowsome. i dont even have to edit (the pictures) much.

brought sean to with a pinch of salt two weeks ago - always wanted to head down to katong to take a look at this themed restaurant after reading reviews on various pages, but have not had the chance to. i spotted a deal, close to 50% off a 3-course set meal on this website (i cant remember which, there's too many deal webpages going around already) the other day, so i thought, why not?

we took quite a while locating tanjong katong, the east is pretty much foreign to us. we do head to the east once in a while, but cant exactly recognize the route since we're always taking different buses while exploring. anyways it's not too hard to spot with a pinch of salt once you locate tanjong katong since it holds quite a contrast to the shops around it. and all in all, the food was just okay, and of course they hit the basics to plate them all bistro-style. i would say all those reviews i read online are pretty much overrated, i dont feel that warm and cosy, jolly and friendly feeling and that kind of ambience/setting. but the food's definitely decent for it's price(super affordable). with that, i still have got at least 50 cafes and restaurants on my "cafes/restaurants i wanna dine at" list, it just keeps on multiplying..

and my outfit of the day,
(top - myrosebullet, bottom - wearerubbish, necklace - f21, boots - my mom's)

since we seldom head to the east, we decided to travel a little by foot (can explore more uh) before making our way to city plaza (because i wanted to shop) but i ended up w nothing because i looked horrible that day, hence i got a conclusion that everything i tried on turned out ugly. we ended up at bedok reservoir, strolling along the reservoir under that hot hot heat, looking at kids overcoming obstacle courses and talking about how we should let our kids do it too in future, despite all those things that happened earlier in the day which totally ruined our mood. but love always win. we ended up whipping dinner tgt at sean's, it's pretty simple but still am so glad it turned out fine. well it was the first time i made chinese food at sean's, and his mom even tried it and said it was good....... well i really hope it did.
