i a m g r e e d y g i r l

i'm back with another post. that's three in two days. i haven't been posting so frequently in a long time! wow good sign. it's good to pick up this habit of blogging daily again. right, maybe a post in two days sounds more realistic. so i caught the vow and battleship last week, and this weekend, i'll be catching gone, and another flick on dvd.. back to the old routine! at least a movie per week. be it in the cinema or on dvd. the vow wasnt as good as expected.. overhyped. on the other hand, i thought battleship was pretty cool, and i really cant wait for avengers!! purchased this week's 8days (mr captain america is staring at me right now, hello there!), cant wait to see more of him in the cinema. and by then when the merchandises are out, sean and myself would be busy fitting pieces of lego bricks together. hehe

finally some decent updates w photos, before i d i s a p p e a r. haha
in case you dont know, i purchase 8days frequently. and the crave//eat section easily made it to my favorite section from the mag and i usually read ALL their food reviews. so one day, i was reading as usual (hunger games was on the cover) and i saw this:
"The Food: Hearty options under their list of 'Egg inspired' dishes include a very delectable Eggs benedict ($18), made with a twist. With two perfectly poached eggs, served not with bacon but robust - flavored shaved lamb prosciutto. And replacing plain old English muffins are kalamata rosemary scones, redolent of the fragrance of the herb, making it a perfect match for the cured lamb."
egg benny and scones - what a combination, i love the idea of two of my favorite things together!! definitely a different take from the usual norm. just reading and looking at the foodtography alone made me all excited, and so i went ahead to make reservations the week after lol. i brought sean along w me since he didnt have to be in camp that day, and i bought a voucher from their promo online, hence a special price of $12 for one of the mains.

some humble snaps from cammie g! late plate is located at the shaw foundation alumni house, inside the NUS campus along kent ridge drive, definitely not the place that comes to mind when you think of breakfast and brunch. it's not too accessible unless you have a car. i took a bus to NUS and alighted at the wrong stop apparently, took quite a while to get to alumni house thanks to all the directional signage.
Photobucket
if you haven't realised, the menu's listed on the wall.

left: chef's fry up ($20) right: egg benedict ($18)

like exactly what's quoted from 8days, this isnt the usual traditional egg benny. the poached eggs over here at late plate were served on kalamata rosemary scones instead of english muffins, and it comes with a choice of ocean trout or lamb proscuiutto. i had the latter, obviously. and yes what a winner. hollandaise sauce was yummy, poached eggs + scones = excellent combination.

Photobucket
sean had the chef's fry up. it was good as well, especially the croquettes.

i bet everyone have tried the legendary kfc double down burger? this double down burger definitely made a big push right here. i had mine close to two weeks ago, two days after it's debut in singapore? which was also the same day where i dropped by late plate. it was really shiok. i love how it's bread-free, (even though i love bread) i love how it consist of just two slabs of fatty goodness, sandwiching bacon, cheese and some sauce - too good to be true hehe yet another combination of my favorite shit. (yes i know lots of fave food, i mentioned egg benny and scones, and now bacon and fried chicken. these are all my comfort food! there are definitely more down the list, toufu mushrooms pastaz, haha i'm just really greedy.) god, my love of junk food..... i wanted a second double down to myself after sending the entire shit down my system. it's good, not extremely yummy-yummy-tummy, but it's good enough. that's why i dont understand how some girls called it quit after their first(or second) bite, or dont even want to give it a try at all. i mean it's actually equivalent to a two-piece chicken meal la srsly, with an additional bacon hahaha. aiya, i know i'm growing horizontally + me so unhealthy but who cares. life is too short to be on a diet yo.

made a trip to katong sometime ago, i wanted to check out katong I12. then we decided to walk to old airport road food centre from katong based on instinct, since it's just so near, but we got lost halfway in the shophouses along joo chiat. hahaha okay not really, but we took the longer route, a much longer route and ended up at geylang serai before turning back to katong again. please dont laugh, i'm a westie okay! i took the challenge eh, cant exactly rely on the map on my lousy bb as well, yet i wanted to walk. i love to walk. however, we chanced upon a hidden gem along the way, blessing in disguise? :)
Photobucket
we walked in straight upon seeing the signage. afterall, if you have a sweet tooth and love taking photos, visiting a cupcake shop's one of the greatest places to be. click here for their menu x

couldn't resist getting the rainbow cupcake upon seeing it on the rack. look at the colors.... i just had to. sean's picked cookies and cream. well sadly, we chanced upon hey, cupcake! in the late afternoon close to evening, and most of the cupcakes were gone. i would love to have a red velvet cuppie anytime. they also have special flavored frostings on cupcakes; maple frosting, milo frosting and ribena frosting. apparently, they do customizations as well.

That again,

i hate lonely nights, i hate it. especially when i have to struggle and rush my already-tired soul to finish a 2k words internship report that will be dued in two days, and i'm only just starting on it. i feel like i'm trapped in a bubble, cant get out of it no matter how hard i try, all i can do is continue floating - continue writing or just wait for something to happen. lol description fail. but no, i'm serious. i hate doing this alone, and in the middle of it, i get frustrated about myself every single time (mostly over nothing) and get upset over.... god knows what. of course, school work's just a partial of it. here goes the old saying again, "all bad things come together"...... haha i wish i wasnt so sad all the time.

(ok this is totally irrelevant to my previous text) i thought of you. in fact, i think of you so often, it's insane. i love how my cold hands choose to seek warmth between your palms. they misses your palms quite instantly. they're kinda smart.. haha. how about some cupcakes, cheese fries or bread along with tea, a bed + your body by my side? perfect combination... hehe. sean, thanks so much for dropping by passed two nights, just to accompany me, give me back rubs, and just let me lie on your thighs for hours even though they got numbed. but most importantly, thanks for that quick gasp of air. much needed. it feels so good when there's someone assuring you that things will be fine (even when they dont know about the situation, aiya who cares) and take care of you for a while. i love that feeling. i love your hugs. those are my favorite. for now, i'm just gonna pretend hugging you till i see you this weekend x

have you guys checked out scoot's latest promo fares? bkk for 44sgd (w all taxes included) wtf this is so tempting. haha i think it's cheaper than my taxi farez.

Yes, i failed once again.

can you believe it? i failed my class 3 once again. "it's so easy, you can do it...." "dont worry you'll pass this time round" yes and it's so hard to fail, yet i failed it, TWICE. i was so hopeful, and now i'm just a fucking failure. two times. but srsly, i dont even know why i failed (he said i'm good to go if i drive on my own yet he failed me) who fucking take tp two times and still cant pass?!?! fuck, nobody!!
yes i need to get out of this, move the fuck on with life. (and no i did not just skipped one lecture and two tutorials for this shit.......) crying over spilled milk is retarded since damage's alr done. driving is just.....driving. just a fucking license. yes yes, i've waited two months for this chance, and now, i need to wait another three more months before another available slot. then what, fail again? i need to kill myself. how to not feel lousy you tell me? whatever man.

i hate this post.

April rambles,

Photobucket
i'm done w internship! survived seven weeks of it, cant believe i didnt take any MCs at all. big achievement there. also, i apologise for the constant ramblings and complains (ikr from my previous blog posts, as well as my tweets), i cant help it i needed a channel or somewhat similar platform to vent. well but i'm thankful it all ended in a good note, made friends, and learnt how to handle difficult people along the way. working at a call centre's definitely something i'll never imagined myself doing, i'm glad i had a taste of it.. it's really, different. as much as i hated working at amk's call centre (freaking 90min bus/train ride), i definitely would miss talking to so many people a day. i would definitely miss using that system as well, autopak/map gps, talking to the drivers while holding passengers on the other line, dealing w all sorts of requests, miss finding means to chao geng, and i'll miss listening and faking angmoh/jap accents. hahaha. and for now, back to school..... (ook, and i gave first day a miss lol) oh yes to add on, school's gonna be awesome since they brought in MOS burger, and toastbox to the campus. but one thing i dont understand, shuttle bus service within the campus, uh seriously?

time to revive my page, i'm constantly struggling to keep this space up to date. & i'm always failing on my part haha. posting pictures all the way back in feb, last week of feb, where i was just done w year two (yes, that's way back before my internship). remembering that perfect weekend after my last paper? quote from my blogpost back in feb, "yay! the plan was to have brunch, then a trip to the shoppes at mbs, before titanic exhibition (finally) at the artscience museum, then dinner at skyve elementary bistro. apparently i won myself a degustation dinner worth $300 back in decemeber last year, and i finally made reservations to have dinner yesterday. the food was really amazing, and i'll blog about it real soon in a separate post w pictures"

hahaha and i took more than two months... lol.

so here goes! weekend brunch, cedele @ rail mall.

Photobucket
HAHA NARNIA. so apparently we were not the only ones.... the couple(s) before/after us were doing the same as well.

the titanic exhibition was quite an experience. definitely a good one, and worth every penny. we were all lucky that we were given a chance to relieve the myth of the maiden voyage. we were given a boarding pass each with the name and personal details of a random passenger, and at the end of the exhibition, we could find out from the memorial wall if the passenger survived or not. i dont have much pictures to share since photography wasnt allowed, but here are some taken w/o flash (haha as usual..... i do that everytime)

a pleasant and romantic evening spent at skyve. skyve elementary bistro's located in a former campus, tucked away in newton area. really classy exterior isnt it? also, they had something like a wine big cellar upon entering the restaurant - a perfect place to chill, and host an event. well, i count myself lucky for winning myself this degustation dinner, thanks skyve!
