Eat your heart out,

i have been extremely busy with school lately, and that explains why i am blogging at snail's pace. i also mentioned about this previously, too busy to even get on with my life. phew thank god our integrated project's fucking done, and i just had my last test for this semester before our study break though i still have a report to rush by next week. i've got some much needed rest finally, and now that i found some spare moments to myself, i have no excuses to not update this blog w a decent post. we have a week break before the exams commence. got to put aussie post on a halt first, like i said, i took a lot of pictures and it's going to take me some time (excuses..... no but i'm serious, meh) moral of the story? do not set unnecessary deadlines lol, sorry if any of you guys are waiting for the post. shall not set any deadlines anymore, kinda forgot that blogging should be fun and not a chore.

last monday, sean treated me to a celebratory meal, uh to celebrate on getting my driver's license. sweet intention there haha, and i love celebrations! caught dark knight thereafter, and it was perfect.. back to our meal, w a tight budget in mind, i got to choose where to go! and i decided to go w saveur (which means flavor in french), they have one of the most affordable french food in singapore. i've heard so much of this casual restaurant - they started off as a stall in the coffee shop before moving out of their test kitchen to purvis street! bookmarked this one since forever, lol finally made a trip there w the favorite boy for lunch. for the price we paid, it's definitely worth it.

i ordered the duck confit, and i got the angel hair pasta w sherry minced pork and sakura ebi as well, while sean decided to go w beef bourgeon. i love duck confits and i will never ever get sick of it; this one was pretty alright, it's not cooked in the traditional way i think? corrrect me if i'm wrong. not the best one we've tried (i prefer it salty) but it was really tender, and really satisfying. i liked it. the pasta was good. v simple yet gorgeously plated, and it came in a smallish bowl. not too big but still, i ordered two mains. haha i know i'm really greedy, and i eat a lot! but that's just me haha. i think both the beef and duck confit's about $9 each? and my pasta was what, $4? how awesome was that? that's even cheaper than some hawker food, i once had caifan (mixed veg rice) for more than $5 wtf right. and so i have no idea how the dudes behind saveur managed to price their food at such an inexpensive price, especially at purvis street, but i must say they are really pleasant for the amount we paid.

Photobucket
we also ordered pistachio panna cotta to share. we love the pistachio bits and it's texture, well and this dessert cost us not more than $7.

today, i decided to send my s3 for repair, and it's not even three weeks old. sigh encountered major problems over the past week, super disappointed w the fact that i cant even dial a phonecall, like srsly what's the point of having a phone that can't even call or receive calls? pointless. yes, right. and now, i feel so crippled without my s3.... (still, i choose s3 over iphone) am using sean's spare phone now so i cant be contacted via whatsapp/fb on the go! text/tweet me instead if you're looking for me, and better still, give me a call. that said, i dont have any contacts on my phone now besides cx, gag, wshit, and of course, sean. haha pathetic right. cant wait to get my phone back, god. i cant fucking survive w/o a smartphone, sigh, got to admit i'm a slave to technology.

well apart of that, the rest of the week shall be good! had yummy phad thai today at concorde and will be meeting my favorite girls tmr and on thursday, that's two days in a roll! also, will be catching total recall this friday. ooooh lala~ kate beckinsale's too sexy... got to learn LOL, cake cake cake.

some photos from all over (june/july) before ending off my post,
Photobucket
instant noodles that i made on two separate occasions - i love instant noodles, i dont care if it's unhealthy or not. plus, i'm really on a tight budget that's why i'm surviving v much on these if there's no dinner at home. apparently my instant noodles are always filled w lots of ingredients; i dont like to eat it plain, if not i would have ate cupnoodles uh (my philosophy yo)

Photobucket
there you go, us all suited up for our integrated proj's presentation last friday. we were the very last team to present from the whole HCM cohort, and that's pretty stressful! i rather we were the first team or smth, setting the benchmark instead of getting compared to all the teams.

celebrated bestie's 21st two weeks ago,

i love the bright colors, 'over the rainbow' was the theme of her party!

my favorite girls! pa came on ma's behalf since ma's away for internship alr. pretty sweet of him isnt it?

also, met up w the gang for mahjong, and cards at jacq's the next day after bestie's party, when both tian and jiahui were still in singapore. tian has gone back to aussie, and i think jh's in germany now? not too sure. xinhong's bf, jiahui and especially the masterchef of the night, chinyi, were busy in the kitchen preparing our ten course tzechar meal! or was it eleven? it was so so so good! think cereal prawns, fuyong egg, black pepper beef, sambal kangkong all, and just take a look at the sweet and sour pork below, looks so good isnt it! i personally love the calamari sauce (actually it's just mayo and garlic) but it's good!
Photobucket
Photobucket
we also had soup and steamed fish that wasnt captured, because we were too greedy and decided to dig in.
Photobucket
what a big group there's 11 of us, well actually there's 12, but yt's not in singapore! haha everyone's doing their exchange and stuff.

like i mentioned earlier, ma left for her overseas internship, for six freaking months! makes me wonder if i made the right choice to give mine a miss back in march when i was offered mine from np. shall move on and not think about it anymore, at least i got to spend so much time w sean, and i got to travel as well. we sent ma off that night, and stayed overnight at the airport too, it's been a while girls. love these girls so much w all my heart (hahahah damn, so mushy)

apparently gaggy got her new g1x, and we really managed to spam her cam w all our faces all.

Do everything now,

let's all get pregnant and ditch our kids // it doesn't count if it's just the tip // let's put the con back in consequence // this time is your time // let's get it on // get it on // grab your neighbor and suck their face // don't tell your lover but you love the taste // i'm here to say that your sin's erased // no more worries // you're free, free, free, free.

do everything now, do everything now, right now.
do everything now, while we're still young.

"i keep it steady, for the one that i love."  - ben howard (a hand to hold)

i was overjoyed when i spotted a photobooth machine on our second day at sydney. have seen these in many movies, and have always wanted to try it w my special someone. (neoprints machine and id photobooth arent comparable, i love these old-fashioned kinda stuff haaah) had so much fun at the booth, with some terrible angle but who cares... i love you w all my heart, my happy pill. - sydney'12

as you guys noticed, i somehow managed to cross my own deadline. then again, i can never meet deadlines. aussie trip's journal not up yet, but i'm definitely trying my best! i just have not got time for this blog the past week, my whole week was packed with projects and more projects, one after another. what is free time? free time's a rarity. cant wait for all these to come to an end, and i'll have time for myself. damn i'm tired. i need my life back. i dont even have time to visit cafes/restos and new places, let alone checking out recipes or cook something decent. also haven been catching up w my girls, snapping photos, creating new memories or dolling myself up. been sleeping at ungodly hours and waking up early for school the next day, which obviously is the reason why my eyebags are at such a hideous stage. lack of sleep, lack of food dates, gosh. cant even remember when was the last time sean and i go dating, nowadays we just meet to have a meal and date at each other's crib haha. well, also saving up huh. sigh i really need to work on time management, ah just let me ramble on here. i repeat, i need my life back.

oh well..... to kickstart my aussie journal, here are some of the stuff i brought back from the land down under, (i shall include the price $$$ as well)
Photobucket
1. black trenchcoat (supre), 50AUD.
Photobucket
2. biker jacket (some random shop at harbour town), 18AUD.
i got these two precious outer on the first day when we landed on brisbane. i love these two pieces so much! it's like two three times cheaper compared to the ones found here, what a good deal!

Photobucket
3. tops/outer/bottom
got the black basic, and maroon cardigan (both extreme end) from cotton on for like what, 5AUD and 2AUD respectively. my tribal printed bralet was purchased at 7.50AUD, supre; leopard print bralet, again from cotton on, 5AUD - which was too tight for me sigh; polka dotted blazer from valley girl at 10AUD, and a tribal printed shorts from citybeach, at only 15AUD.

Photobucket
4. accessories
excluding the two feathery-earrings, everything else's here cost cost less than 2AUD. yes the hair straightener was given to sean free!! (and yes, of cos it's now mine hahah......)

Photobucket
5. shades, a total of 10, @ 2AUD each. hahaha and they're mostly gifts.
6. 3AUD eiffel tower cookie cutter bought at sydney fish market.
7. awww too cute right, got three of these in melbourne's queen's victoria.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
8. SNACKS. i've got lots more, nuts, granola and stuff. and they're all gone lol.
i have w me here two of my favorites from arnott's, that cant be found in sg. arnott's relatively cheap in australia, and they have such a wide variety of it, the ones here are so limited and overpriced. sean and i also bought ready-to-eat pasta back!! cant wait to try the packet out.

Photobucket
9. panty liners, such pretty packaging, i knew i had to get it......

& not in picture,
10. kitchen tools - black pepper corn, and a grater.
11. birthday cards for myself because they are too pretty hahahaha and i had to.

-------------

well despite all the heavy workload, and all other bad things i could think of that july has offered me, there are also a few things to look up to here and there;
  1. i've got my drivers' license!!!!! i know it's no biggie to most people, but it meant something to me. well at least i met my personal goal to attain my license before i turn 21 hehe. have yet to drive out, but still am v much contented..
  2. i've got my s3!!!! (well i had to, my bb died at the most crucial point of time when i was halfway into my IP project wtf) so yes i'm a andriod user now. been spending so much of my time trying to get used to a touched screen phone, haha ikr it's been quite a while since everyone's proficient w touchscreen electronics (iphone/ipad), but i have been using bb more more than two years - haha. s3 has been treating me really well so far, am having fun swiping away.
i have an instagram acc as well, do follow me up @ zhengningng heh (sigh someone took the acc 'zhengning' away........ and that makes it my only socialnetwork acc w/o zhengning as my username lol ok that's a very random fact)

also, please let me know where can i get pretty s3 covers. i finally got my first cover today, it's a little surprise from sean (uh not exactly. he called me to ask if i wanted one, but i didnt pick up. he still got it anyways, heh) and i love it!

shall do a kickass dance to welcome august.

July 08, 2012

We're on a timebomb,

this weekend feels like weekday to me. early morning trip back to school for our TD/OB workshop, had lunch w the boy, i also spent some time helping the boy w his revision on accounts, which i obviously do not remember anything at all and i felt really bad about it, it was supposed to be my best module in school, yet i couldnt even offer much help now. just one year and i conveniently forgot every single shit, seriously. time to dig my previous notes out, why because i especially hates it when i cant solve something that i think i'm capable of! and i usually gets really mad, i'm so going to read it all up again. had dinner at his gramp's in the evening, before heading back for a cuppa iced coffee, in an attempt to complete some of my assignments and tasks on hand. you should know the outcome if i succeeded or not, since i'm right here....... negative. i really wish i would use my time more wisely though. stressful week ahead where we have to submit two reports which we have yet to start on it, not even a single bit. good luck to myself. exams this sem should be in august, i'm nowhere close to ready, but i would gladly welcome it. deadlines are making me miserable. that said, i still have close to six hundred more picas to filter out from the aussie trip, before i can post the rest up on my fb. shall try to start blogging about aussie by next weekend haha let's see if i could meet my own deadline huh

i have a sudden urge to start picking up french all over again. maybe i should! and that could be my motivation to fly over to paris, and lyon for all the romance and good food. ok i need to stop picturing all these in my head, because it's not going to happen anytime soon. delivered a presentation on maldives last thursday, we were supposed to plan a luxurious honeymoon trip for a young married couple - seasons, preparations, transport, accommodations as well as attractions - i cant wait to land my feet there someday sigh. meanwhile, sean and i also sat down and brainstormed where shall we head to together next year - he's back to school, and i'll still be in school - poor students we are, so it should be somewhere near. i guess? we dont know yet, but talking about it is enough to excite me. motivation to save up!!!! $.$

oh, and the amazing spiderman was indeed amazing. (O'YEAH the amazing andrew garfield.......)

Nothing like Australia,

Photobucket
back in singapore. australia was swell, man what an experience. weather was approx 8 to 16 degree celcius all day. road trips, good food, beautiful places, cheap buys, new experiences - i could just go on and on. ended our aussie trip w the most perfect steak ever at hurricane's, w fireworks by the bay. we also got to see a rainbow on two different occassions, how lucky can we get? well in short, i had so so so much fun! my june was definitely nothing short of awesome, i've only been back for a day and i missed it already. the awesome weather to wake up to everyday, the new people i get to meet each day, the new things i get to learn and places i get to visit each day; and i definitely missed waking up to that silly face, and in a room filled w happy faces, happy roomies. thanks sean, tian, xh and jacq for making the trip happen. i doubt i would have the time to do a post on the trip in detail right now since i'm pretty busy w school, and i have other commitments as well, but i've got so much to share!!!! lots of interesting finds and insights, and i would definitely love to post them all up. i'll try my best to get the rest of the photos from the trip up on my fb, would probably take weeks to filter since i've got more than 2k photos, not including visuals from sean's iphone. oh well, i can do this. quote myself from the trip, "omg the sky's damn blue la, the grass all damn green i dont even need to edit can!" pardon my singlish, still, true story. still comtemplating to do day by day posts, city by city posts, or just random visuals.... but for now, i've got some visuals for you guys, random images from the past eleven days over at brisbane, melbourne and sydney. enjoy! (and by the way, they are not in order)
