Shuck

when the moon is full and i’ve pried
i’ll take up your guts, to the little shed outside.

i’ll shuck all the light from my skin, and i’ll hide it in you.
i’ll pluck the long grass, that grows from me, and hide it in you.
i’ll pretend i’m blind in one eye, and i’ll hide it in you.
it’s like your head is crumbled, and hiding in you.

I learned things I never knew.

i had one last paper last friday, and... horrid is the only word to describe how i would probably fair. i just hope i dont have to retake this mod again, screwing up my studies and shit as if i have so much time to waste. whatever. well, i always believe in giving yourself a good treat after exams. do you guys practice that? a good treat as in either a holiday, a gift, but most importantly, a good meal! that's a must. so prior to my interview that friday evening (super hardcore, an interview right after exams hahaha) sean took me out to kith cafe located at park mall. so much more convenient for us to head to this one instead of the one at robertson quay. the food was good, no complaints!

and exactly a week before i ended my papers, sean completed his prep course exams. that definitely calls for a celebration, and i guess we should be heading out for a celebratory meal soon because he's officially enrolled into UOM!!! i'm so proud of my boy hehe.

we headed to dulcet & studio at liang court:

dulcet & studio's one of our accidental finds, from quite some time ago, i think we were just actually roaming around liang court then. decided to head back because of the interior, i like how it feels like.... muji to me. i heard there's a muji cafe in japan, really hope to visit that someday uh that's if i head to japan. so back to d&c, definitely a nice and quiet place to relax or for a group of friends to hang out. the food are decently priced too!

left: seafood black ink tagliolini pasta  right: mentaiko tagliolini pasta

the black ink pasta tasted so different, not quite used to that chewy texture. not that i dont like it, but i prefer my mentaiko obviously. well, nothing really goes wrong w salmon..... so if you want to play safe, then get that!

i've read so much about their desserts from tampopo deli, and of course, the matcha chiffon cake! got one of those to try it ourselves.

i think we're becoming and growing more alike hehehe

like i mentioned, i had my last paper which means sem break's here once again! it's already week one into the holidays. have been pretty busy lately, catching up w work (yes i'm employed) and friends. a pity that work's only on a part time basis for me, and i hardly gets enough shifts for my own good. sigh, how do i even earn enough money to fund for my trip in oct? should i take on another part time job? or just... enjoy whatever time i have left for the holidays? questions to ponder.

Scenes from few weeks (almost a month) ago,

AUG 1; the night we all knocked out..............

alright..... maybe not all, but  i did. so we wanted to start august w a bang by clubbing hahaha ok not really, but we just wanted to hang out. also, to spend time together before i start studying for my papers - which obviously defeated the whole purpose because i screwed them all up. but anw, that night was....shit. i puked a whole lot as far as i can rmb, and i knocked out even before we started dancing. wenshit had to take care of me + sean had to come all the way to heli to pick me up because i couldnt even sit up or walk properly, felt really bad because he was actually studying for his exams. he even stayed over that night to look after me, and then guess what? the next day, the same bunch of us met up again and head to the beach! i really wonder how we even managed to get up in the first place...

what's summer without the beach and bikinis?
sun soaked lovely afternoon w the girls as usual. summer at it's finest! i can never get sick of meeting these girls. we had a little picnic over at sentosa - think lots and lots of sushis, sashimi, cherry tomatoes and yes we even bought one whole honey glazed chicken to have it by the beach. such gluttons seriously.

AUG 7;

BK breakfast w the bf one day, they're pretty worth it! quite cheap too, less than 12bucks for this two platters? and they're not too bad (i'm serious) i'm satisfied at least.

AUG 8;
and so i decided to prepare lunch for sean after one of his papers, i can be such a diligent girlfriend.... lol i even designed a menu, you can view it here, x.
Photobucket
left: meal for two. right: heart shaped tamagoyaki
got inspired by this video, go take a look! i did a pretty bad replica of it though.

army of bacon wrapped enoki
bacon sluts!! this was good, pretty easy to prepare too. cut the bacon into halves, put some enoki mushrooms in each slice and wrap it. then put them all in a tray and bake it. that's all! we made this one again few days later. for the sauce btw, you can choose to go w teriyaki sauce. but i decided to make my own: using light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar and some lemon juice. it's so much better than teriyaki sauce (imy) you can view the recipe here.

Photobucket
bacon rolled shrimp saute
similarly, cut the bacon into halves. then wrap the bacon around shrimp and secure it w a toothpick. of course, the shrimps were seasoned w white wine, salt and black pepper. saute the shrimps in a frying or a grill pan, till golden brown and that's it. x

Photobucket
pan fried butter and garlic prawns
south african dish, that's what i wrote on the menu. actually, im not too sure of that. but it definitely tasted very different from the usual chinese dishes we have at home. all i used was butter, two cloves of garlic, lemon wedges, and of course, prawns! x

right. it's 4am and i'm hungy.... why oh why

August 22, 2012

Just a quick one,

Photobucket
i was wondering where were my notes after uploading this pica up. hhahaha i have no idea.

so, two down. two more to go. exams can be such an eye roll. still, exams over projects anytime, just saying. and after my last paper this coming friday, i'm officially left w one final semester in np. ikr, probably expecting me to go "how time flies" and shit, well which is true. other than that, i've been looking forward to a proper day out w my lokerman. i can foresee how busy both of us would be, w packed schedules and all when we start work and school respectively, so.... i guess, friday it shall be!

cant wait to post and share my thoughts, my day, pictures and so on, on my blog again. hoping that i'll stop being so lazy that is. got to release and let that inner laziness out (in fact, i should've done so long ago, at least for my exams, no?) haha talk about priorities again.

happy mid week y'all~

so i finally visited my gdfren cx at work back in july! as you can tell, she works at Carpenter and Cook, a charmingly vintage themed cafe situated along upper bukit timah road. apparently every single review that i read online, were pretty positive, so i had to check it out myself - check out sarah's post here(tbh, my main purpose was to visit cx at work hahahaha) - well what a vintage wonderland! lots of vintage wares and decors everywhere, definitely a visual delight. we did not order much because all the scones and tarts were gone by the time we reached, and also, it was close to dinner time and we had to go for dinner after that. heard that their pastries were good stuff though. the apple combler cake that we ordered was not bad at all, gdfren was really sweet to throw in some cookies along w the cake hehe.

ps: go visit my gdfren at C&C! hahahahaha.
