cups n canvas is a cafe-studio located along selegie road, just a stone throw away from pomo. well you get the idea from the shop name itself, cups n canvas combines both art and food. they offer courses such as printmaking and painting (similar concept to arteastiq), they do also sell the canvas paintings.

we decided to go with the sweet potato latte, which is almost the most popular item at the shop. well, it was a pleasant surprise! that was my first time having a cuppa sweet potato latte. such interesting flavor, and i really liked it. cant compare them to the ones in korea (i heard it's popular in korea) simply because well, i havent been to korea. it was really refreshing. the two pasta dishes we ordered (blanc bacon, greeno pesto) were on point as well, especially the pesto. im a huge fan of pesto, and that didnt disappoint at all! the food was also reasonably priced, they have some lunch and dinner set going on, you might want to check out.

Fit To Win SG (FTW)

8 weeks. 5%. Are you FIT to WIN?

Everyone wants to keep fit! & here's your chance to try new fitness activities, have fun with your friends and make money at the same time;

The concept is simple. Players begin by placing a bet of SGD$20 into a general money pot. Everyone who loses 5% or more of their starting weight over the course of eight weeks gets to split the pot equally. In addition, the top three players who loses the highest percentage of their starting weight will be further rewarded with prizes worth up to SGD$3000!

Fit To Win is a derivative of the highly successful online social dieting game, DietBet. Based in New York, DietBet has yielded incredible results as thousands of players have successfully lost weight while participating in the competition. The secret, they say, is a combination of social accountability, support and a healthy dose of peer pressure.

What makes Fit To Win different from DietBet?
On top of providing a platform for like ‐ minded Singaporeans to lose weight together, Fit To Win goes further by offering every player a fully sponsored eight-week fitness program to help them reach their goals. Thus, every Fit To Win player will be entitled to free fitness classes, such as Zumba, Bokwa, Kickboxing, Pilates, Muay Thai, Yoga and many more, conducted by Fit To Win’s fitness partners. All participants will also enjoy other free recreational activities during these 8 weeks such as laser tag, gaming sessions and more!

How to register?
Online registration opens on 15 December 2013.
To ensure a fair game, every player will be required to attend a Fit To Win weigh-in session from 12-19 January 2014 to officially register their starting weight. At the end of the eight-weeks, on 16 March 2014, the Fit To Win Final Weigh-‐in will take place in the form of a mass workout event at Fort Canning Green. The top 3 winners will also be announced at the event.
With the rising trend of obesity in Singapore, Fit To Win aims to introduce an entirely new way for Singaporeans to lose weight and get fit. It is a challenge that requires commitment and discipline, but at the same time, extremely fun and rewarding. Most importantly, Fit To Win provides positive reinforcement for all its participants in the form of a friendly community that will offer support and motivation every step along the way in order to reach a common goal.

Early bird special: Register by 31st December 2013 and you will be entitled to 30 class credits (usual:24)

Stand a chance to participate in the one-of-a-kind weight loss challenge for FREE!

talk about efficiency. well guys, i'm finally done with my last paper for this year (say hello to three weeks break - only three weeks?!?! sadly yes) december has been really awesome so far, minus the fact that my paper falls the day after my birthday. which means, of course, i spent my birthday studying for that damn paper. i have more time to blog now, but i dont think people are actually reading this since everyone's on ig or even dayre? i dont knw about dayre, but i dont think i want to hop on to the bandwagon just yet.

checked out la ristrettos w sean back in sept when he's still in town. i was really attracetd to the lovely space and decors from pictures on instagram (haha but of course) i love brick walls. i love how homely it make people feel, and of course it is a huge draw for me. the cafe is relatively small though, but they do have outdoor seatings. we were there on a weekday, and thus it was really quiet, and at one point, we had the whole cafe to ourselves - which i liked! i mean who would've guessed that such a gem exist within a medical centre? but of course, due to word of mouth, instagram and other forms of social media, this place is known now. not one of them hipster cafes, but definitely worth a visit!

Anger Management 101

my blood pressure has gone so high all thanks to that dude sitting four metres right across me. i dont get angry that easily, but this dude has been testing my patience on a daily basis, i cant even. so much negativity going through me all thanks to you fat fuck, and i need an outlet to vent!!!! oh god. i dont whine at every single thing, but this guy, is totally from another planet.

>> 20 things to do when you're feeling angry with someone <<

“if you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow.”
and this is what i call the ultimate bull. not useful at all.

first, some kind of people dont even deserve that tiny bit of patience given to them.
and if you do (sometimes i'd like to be nice) they ride over your fucking head.
in the end? you find yourself fuming, even more and worse than what it was in the first place.

and as you all know, me being me, i dont hide anything, and i always express my anger (when i'm super calm of course) i hate it when people control me, so what if you're my superior, so what if you're my boss? dont even try to. i miss working in the f&b, i had so much fun working every single day - meeting really interesting people at work, taking things easy, lots of shit talk and of course, i've made amazing friends. and now, why am i here i wonder. shit ass deskbound, i'd never like it deskbound at the first place (and even better, i've got no one to talk to in the office) - i mean if not for the pay i am getting, if not for the fact that i have to pay my school fees.

why am i even bothering so much about that guy four metres across?
dude. you're insignicifant and you have no control over me.

im but a fat girl fuming all over now. need to do some shit to stimulate some happy juice in my brain instead of feeding my emotions.

i think i need a timeout before the next eruption takes place. lol.

Tofu Broccoli Salad

 photo 20130924_090050_zpse5b60a69.jpg
(adopted from beyondkimchee)
two of my absolute favorites mashed and scrambled up together - how not to resist?
plus points, it's so easy to make. i did this in just fifteen minutes while i was preparing for work.

cut up broccoli florets into smaller pieces (i use one entire small head of broccoli). steam the tofu and broccoli for about 2-3 minutes until broccoli is tender. remove the heat and set the broccoli aside. drain out any excess water in the tofu, then, crumble the tofu and mix it w the broccoli florets. to the mixture, add in some sesame oil, minced garlic and soy sauce (i am using garlic salt and garlic powder). toss them altogether, season further if you wish. add roasted sesame seeds atop.

#throwback to september, (hahaha too used to instagram hashtags)

Pasarbella // Meeting Geroge Young

and so this happened two weeks ago (3/11)....
 photo IMG-20131103-WA0020_zps6ea91be8.jpg
i met george young in person! gosh, grabbed a photo w him, and caught him cooking in action (apparently he was promoting hubalicious), but srsly, how cool was that.

gourmet wagyu steak sandwich

and i thought that was it. i made it to the newspaper the following day:
 photo thenewpaperGeorgeYoungFeature041113_zpsb279481b.jpg
hahaha i died when andy and ian posted this on my wall, seriously they did that?

quote the new paper,
"in the age of social media, some things are still better to good old fashion chance. student ng zhengning, 21, has been a big fan of chinese-greek actor-host george young since 2011. miss ng turned to instagram in the hopes of meeting the heart throb in the flesh some day. but whenever young would post a picture of his whereabouts, she could never catch him in time. yesterday, fate finally intervened"

HAHA omg im so embarrassed, the whole article sounds like MY story, ie how much i have to go through and shit to meet him (you get what i mean?) instead of focusing on him and the show. and no, i did not stalk him on instagram, im not a crazy fangirl hokay! i just briefly mentioned instagram... and apparently, i've said too much.

"miss ng's friend had asked her out for lunch at pasarbella@the grandstand where young, incidentally, was a featured celebrity chef alongside culinary stars eric lanlard and wilin low. not only did miss ng finally get to meet young in person, she took a picture with him...... miss ng told the new paper, "the most amazing thing was i had no idea that george was going to be there."

which is true. how lucky am i? thank god that lishwen took me out to pasarbella that day. and yes, the best things in life are always unexpected. so applicable.

"it's a dream come true for me and i think he looks even better in person than he does on TV"

HAHA WHUT #ohnotheydidnt i swear. everyone thinks im a crazy fan girl. he read it (he even posted it), and he'll remember me as a..... crazy fangirl. oh man...
nonetheless, it was good fun! i had a great sunday w my lovely sundate. and of course, meeting george's one hell of a pleasant surprise x

some shots from pasarbella, i'd love to go there as frequent as i can, if it weren't so inconvenient. you got to have a car man, to solve problems like that.
